Our Favourite 2022 Wedding Trends

2022 is in full swing, and we could not be more thrilled for a new year. With the new year brings new trends, and I am so excited to share some of our favourite wedding trends of 2022.

  1. MICRO-WEDDINGS

The pandemic brought us the normalisation of the micro-wedding, and they are here to stay. Micro-weddings are fantastic because you don’t have to feel obligated to invite your mother’s best friend’s boss, because it is just your closest friends and family. In addition, you can provide your 15-20 guests a luxury experience on the same budget as a wedding for 75-100 guests.

How to Incorporate Into Your Own Wedding: Create a guest list of your 10-15 closest family members and friends, then (if desired) include their plus ones.

  2. EMBROIDERED WEDDING WEAR

Whether it is a bridal gown embroidered with flowers, a veil with pearls covering it, or a suit with your initials sewn in, embroidered wedding fashion provides a pop to your wedding day and makes it extra special.

How to Incorporate Into Your Own Wedding: An embroidered wedding dress or suit is a great option! If you desire something a little bit more subtle, consider an embroidered veil or pocket square.

  3. PERSONALISATION

Gone are the days of cookie cutter weddings. We are here for the personalised signs, signature cocktails, and decor that is infused with the couple’s personalities throughout it. The personalised wedding trend that we are seeing may shift the way we view weddings as a whole, because they are about YOU and your love, so let’s make your big day unique!

How to Incorporate Into Your Own Wedding: Begin thinking through what you can make your own: is it your table numbers? The seating chart? Maybe even add a figurine of your pet onto the wedding cake slightly hidden in one of the tiers!

  4. COTTAGE CORE WEDDINGS

When I saw that cottage core weddings were on the rise, I think I may have squealed a little bit. Part of the Peonies and Pine brand identity is that we specialise in ethereal events, and cottage core is FILLED with ethereal elements. Weddings should not be stuffy and boring, but rather should make everyone present feel welcome and should mimic the feeling that you get when you are curled up in a seaside cabin with a light drizzle hitting the windows, a cup of tea in hand, and your favourite book being read (that is the feeling that I at least get).

How to Incorporate Into Your Own Wedding: Think heavy florals, books, coloured glassware: anything to make your wedding seem like it is taking place in a magical garden. There is no such thing as too many flowers, especially when it is a cottage core wedding.

  5. ENTERTAINMENT

I love that couples are adding elements of fun and entertainment into their weddings. Whether it is performances from bands, raves, aerialists, or champagne skirts, weddings are becoming events that are intriguing to all of your senses, and we are here for it.

How to Incorporate Into Your Own Wedding: What is something fun that you and your fiance would love to spend a Saturday evening doing? Is it a country concert? Is it a caricature portraitist? Is it dreaming up fun new cocktails? Bring that experience into your wedding by making it possible for all of your guests to enjoy!
